Home

Welcome to one of my home pages – this one is relatively new and effectively exists to serve up information on my project cars, together with the How To guides that I have written myself.  Navigating the site is supposed to be easy, everything is accessible via the expanding menus on the left – just click the links.

Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to comment on any of my online content – or check out my other site at www.abs-zero.com

On the ‘Ian’s Cars’ pages you can read about my Mk2 Astra GTE 16v, which I converted to V6 power, restored and later sold, moving the engine into a different Mk2 Astra shell. This site is intended to be a living thing, I’ll add more content to it during rainy days and over time it will build up to be a complete diary of my ownership, maintenance and modification of these fine cars.

So I’m into my Vauxhalls, in fact pretty much anything with a Griffin on the front is my kind of project.  I’ve owned a few over the last couple of decades, ranging from the humble Astra through Cavaliers, a Calibra, several Vectras and even a Carlton and Omega.  My latest acquisition is a 1947 Vauxhall 10, which lay unused in a barn for over 40 years – it’s remarkably complete and unmolested, except for the fact that everything that was painted black is now a rusty brown colour.
